Difference Between Intel and AMD

There are lots of differences between intel and AMD processor, also it has some pros and some cons. So let’s talk one by one on both processors.

1. Intel Processor

Intel named as “Integrated Circuit” processor. Intel Corporation is an American multinational company headquartered in Santa Clara, California and it was invented by Robert Noyce. It ranked No. 46 in the 2018 Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by gross revenue.

2. AMD Processor

Advanced Micro Devices, (AMD) is an American MNC semiconductor company originated in Santa Clara, California, that manufacture computer processors and related technologies for business and consumer markets. AMD’s major products include microprocessors, motherboard chipsetsembedded processors, and graphics processors for serversworkstations, personal computers, and embedded system applications.

Comparision on Technical Parameters

1. Power Consumption

The wattage of intel is almost 50%, so power consumption is less as compare to AMD processors. So if you want a laptop with battery life then intel should be preferred.

2. Cost

Intel is more expensive than AMD processor.

3. Efficiency

Intel is more efficient than AMD processor.

4. Cooling

Intel processor is much cooler than AMD. AMD heat up quickly at high performance.

5. Speed

Intel processor speed is faster than AMD.

6. Clock Speed

Intel’s clock speed is 2.93 GHz while AMD’s is 2.0 GHz.

7. Server Hybrid Technology

Server hybrid technology is not innovated in intel processor while AMD has this technology.

8. Symmetric microprocessor capabilities

Intel has 4 sockets/16 cores while AMD has 8 sockets/32 cores.
So as per the above comparison, AMD is useful for those who want to use light performing software and the cost is also low then they can prefer AMD otherwise Intel process is best for high-performance software which will consume higher memory and fast performance.
So, Intel is the best processor for CAD design software.

Clock Speed Comparision between All CPU of Antel & AMD

RYZEN CPU Clock Speed INTEL CPU Clock Speed
Ryzen 3 3.5 GHz Intel i3 10th Gen 3.6 GHz
Ryzen 5 3.6 GHz Intel i5 10th Gen 4.2 GHz
Ryzen 5 4.3 GHz Intel i7 10th Gen 5.1 GHz

Note: It means Intel CPU is always better clock speed than Ryzen for multitasking and heavy graphic software.
